The Staff burial ground in the Village precinct is the second largest cemetery on the Island and also dates back to the period when the Island was used as a General Infirmary. The cemetery has 253 individual graves, consisting mainly of people of Irish descent that worked in the Infirmary and their family members. The site of this burial ground is enclosed on three sides by low rectangular dry-stone walling.
