RIM offers a range of venues for hire - at the modern Nelson Mandela Gateway at the V&A Waterfront as well as historical buildings on the Island.

DID YOU KNOW...
The first recorded landing on Robben Island by Europeans was in 1498, when a group of Portuguese sailors took refuge there and stayed overnight in a cave.
The Guest House
Victorian architecture and ambience is offered at this venue, with a conference room that caters for up to 60 delegates. White boards, flip charts, overhead projectors, laptop presentation connections and technical support is made available. Accommodation for delegates is available at the Guest House and the nearby ex-warders’ houses. Each ex-warder’s house has three (3) bedrooms, a bathroom and a separate toilet.
John Craig Hall
This venue is situated in the Village area and can accommodate up to 200 delegates. A house built in 1841 and two other break-away facilities can accommodate up to 20 persons each. White boards, flip charts, overhead projectors, laptop presentation connections and technical support is available.
Nelson Mandela Gateway
The Robben Island experience begins at the Nelson Mandela
Gateway to Robben Island at the Clock Tower Precinct, V&A
Waterfront, Cape Town. The Gateway is Robben Island Museum’s
“front door”, a mainland symbol of the importance of the Island
for South Africa’s young democracy.
Boardroom - seats 20
A modern, comfortable and practical styled boardroom. Includes
air-conditioning, overhead projectors, laptop projectors and
standard conference equipment.
The Auditorium - seats 120-150 raked
The Auditorium features warm wood panelled floor, walls and
ceiling with superb acoustics. Several front rows can be removed
to create an even larger performance space. Includes
DVD/VHS/CD projector and screen, lighting board and sound
systems, laptop presentation connections and technical support.
