Robben Island EPP Database

In 1997 Robben Island Museum (RIM) embarked on the Memories Project. The main parameters of this project where to collect and document memories of significance from former political prisoners. The project was further meant to collect artefacts of historical significance from Robben Island and use them in interpreting the site for present and future generations. The Ex Political Prisoners Database (EPPDB) project was one of the sub-projects of the Robben Island Museum Memories Project. The project seeks to collect information about the individuals who were imprisoned on Robben Island for political reasons between 1961 and 1991. This name list is an excerpt of this database and Robben Island Museum continues to collect valuable data to populate narratives about the Ex-Political Prisoners onto the database, which is also utilised as a tool for interpretation.
