Maritime 1976 – 1998

The Goel No1 run aground on the shores of Robben Island.
In 1976 the “Goel no.1”, surveying offshore oil potential along the Cape Coast was wrecked. A Korean vessel called “Daeyang Family”, carrying iron ore, was wrecked in 1986. In 1998, a trawler and a salvage vessel were wrecked. Both vessels are still visible on the shoreline of the Island. There are also two other wrecks visible on the shoreline.
